Pro-Article V Convention Organizations and Web-Sites:

The states have applied in sufficient number to cause a convention.  Article V of the Constitution requires Congress to Call a Convention.  But Congress has refused to obey the Constitution.  We urge everyone to contact their members of Congress and demand to know why they do not obey the Constitution. Also contact your state legislators and demand they in turn bring pressure on Congress.  Together we can get the Article V Convention our country needs.

At our Links Page, you can discover other web-sites and organizations that support Article V of the Constitution of the United States, and many links (sorted alphabetically below) to other websites with information about an Article V Convention, the U.S. Constitution, violations of the Constitution, and ways to bring about an Article V Convention.  Each link below includes a short description of the site. Please inform our webmaster if you discover any of the links below no longer function, or wish to suggest new links to be added.  Thank you!

NOTE:
FOAVC.ORG neither supports or opposes any specific amendments, nor supports any political parties or political candidates. However, FOAVC.ORG completely supports the calling of an Article V Convention, and below is a list of organizations and web-sites that support Article V of the Constitution.

Article-V-Convention.com

This web-site, created by Gordie Hayduk.  Gordie points out that in a recent (mid year 2008) Rasmussen Poll, Congress has a dismal 9% approval rating, and only you can change Congress' behavior.  We must not be denied our right, written into law by our founding fathers, an Article V Convention to propose amendments.  If we are denied that right, by Congress, then Congress controls the U.S. Constitution.

Article V of the U.S. Constitution:  The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.

PETITION: Call for the States to do Their Duty! Some opponents to Article V try to perpetuate fear of an Article V Convention by claiming that it could be a run-away convention. However, that fear-mongering is not based on any facts or history. Already, the American states have had 679 (or more) Constitutional Conventions, and none of them were run-away conventions. Recently, Iraq and Afghanistan have had Constitutional Conventions. Many nations have Constitutional Conventions. It should also be pointed out that no amendment to the U.S. Constitution can become law unless ratified by three-fourths of the states. That, by design, is a significant hurdle. Over 10,000 amendments to the U.S. Constitution have been proposed over the past 220 years, but only 27 have been ratified. . . . Sign the Petition
